Colossi Games raises $650,000 in pre-seed funding round

The funding will be used to make a new mobile survival RPG that has to be unique among the other titles of this genre on the market.

Colossi Games is a new Cyprus-based development studio founded by industry veterans: Manuel Prueter, who was a producer on Westland Survival and Planet of Heroes; Andrey Panfilov from Studio NX; and Divo Games co-founder – Anton Petrov.

Now the company announces it has raised $650,000 in pre-seed funding round, led by early-stage venture capital firm Play Ventures, which has already invested in a number of other studios this year such as Potato Play, Reworks, and Unrd. Play Ventures is a new games venture company founded in 2018 by game entrepreneurs, investing globally in games and game services startups.

Colossi Games is building the next generation of mobile survival games. They’re more accessible and break away from cliched themes and overly predictable and stagnant gameplay that plagues much of the genre.

Funding will be used to release a mobile survival RPG in early 2021 and Colossi Games is now actively hiring developers from around the world, but specifically focusing on areas in Eastern Europe, such as Belarus. The team hopes to create a new “Survival 2.0” genre.
