Both studios have worked together for over a decade and now they have decided to legitimize the relationship by this deal.
Croteam is the most known Croatian game development studio. It was formed in August 1992 in Novi Zagreb by Davor Hunski, Roman Ribaric, Dean Sekulic and Damir Perovic. The studio has such famous projects as the Serious Sam game series and The Talos Principle. In April 2008 Serious Sam 3 publishing deal was signed with Devolver Digital, and it was the start of a relationship between these companies.
Now Devolver Digital announces it has acquired Croteam. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Croteam is set to retain creative freedom even as a Devolver subsidiary. The studio will continue development on The Talos Principle 2, new Serious Sam titles, and an unannounced original IP as well.
