Focus Home Interactive today announced that they had taken a step in their journey to success by raising €70.3 million ($85.7 million) through a share offering—which represents more than 19% of the company.
Focus Home Interactive said the investment will be directed for the company’s medium and long-term external growth goals. It means the French publisher will use the money for buying new studios and expediting its development spending by creating games across various genres.
When it comes to expanding their business, Focus Home Interactive has been the definition of aggressive—growing its business over the last year. In 2020, it bought Deck13 Interactive, the developer behind the game, The Surge. Following that, it founded a new Deck13 subsidiary studio in Montreal at the beginning of this year. Focus Home has also acquired Streum On Studio last month, the developer of Space Hulk: Deathwing.
After acquiring Streum On Studio, Focus Home Interactive said it formed an acquisitions team that is actively discussing with several studios.
Focus Home Interactive is based in Paris, France. The publisher has several diverse, quality, and original titles on its portfolio. Focus Home is behind the publishing and distributing of well-known original titles such as A Plague Tale: Innocence, Farming Simulator, Insurgency: Sandstorm, MudRunner, Call of Cthulhu, The Surge 2, and SnowRunner, among others. The company releases games for PC, consoles, and all major platforms.
The publisher’s portfolio will get even more interesting in the coming months as it expects to release new updates of Curse of the Dead Gods and Hardspace: Shipbreaker and releasing the much-awaited new title Hood: Outlaws & Legends.
