Miniclip has agreed to acquire Subway Surfers developer Sybo for an unknown sum. Sybo is one of the newest game studio acquisitions for Miniclip, which previously bought Supersonic Software and Eight Pixels Square. Read more…

505 Games’ parent company, Digital Bros, has acquired the publisher of the Marvel Puzzle Quest and Puzzle Quest: The Legend Returns—D3 Go! for an undisclosed amount. With this acquisition, 505 Games gains exclusive rights to the entire Puzzle Quest franchise. Read more…

Private equity firm Joffre Capital has bought a minority stake in Playtika for $2.2 billion. Playtika was previously owned by Caesars Interactive Entertainment, which the company sold to a Chinese consortium backed by billionaire Jack Ma for $4.4 billion in 2016. Read more…

Clockwork Labs has secured $22 million in a funding round led by VC firm Andreessen Horowitz. The full-remote studio said it will use the investment to fund the development of its community sandbox multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) BitCraft. Read more…

Earth From Another Sun (EFAS) has secured $4.5 million in funding to develop its sandbox space conquest game. The game has already over 10,000 closed-alpha paying players after three and a half years of development who paid between $30 and $250 to get early access to the game. Read more…

Melbourne-based Lumi Interactive has raised $6.75 million in a funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz. The mobile game developer will use the investment to further develop and prepare for the global launch of its upcoming mobile game, Kinder World. Read more…

Mobile game developer Hypemasters has raised $3.25 million to create World War Armies, a mobile real-time strategy game. The game is now in open beta and is expected to be released globally this summer. Read more…

Helsinki-based newly formed studio Bit Odd has raised €5 million ($5.24 million) in a funding round led by Index Ventures. The company plans to use the funds to create ‘a sense of wonder and weirdness in gaming.’ Read more…
