UK-based indie games publisher Kasedo Games announced that it nabbed a majority stake in French strategy game developer Bulwark Studios.
This is Kasedo’s first share acquisition since its formation by Germany-based publisher Kalypso Media Group. The amount of the acquisition remains undisclosed.
Based in Angouleme, Bulwark, Bulwark Studios was founded in 2012 and is best known for developing strategy title, Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus. Both Kasedo and Bulwark have been working together for some time, and Warhammer 40,000, was published by Kasedo. The deal allows the two parties to work together ‘exclusively’ going forward.
“We are delighted to welcome Bulwark Studios into the Kasedo family and wider Kalypso Media Group,” Hales said. “Our next project together is already well underway and we have huge aspirations for its success. Knowing what we are due to announce next month and also the previous successes they have delivered for us in the past, it made total sense to do this deal now and invest in our bright collective future.”
Kasedo’s MD Jonathan Hales said he is delighted to welcome Bulwark into the Kasedo family and Kalypso Media Group. He also said both parties are already working on their next project due to be announced next month and expects it to be a great success.
Bulwark co-founder Emmanuel Monnereau also spoke about his studio’s majority stockholder. He said Kasedo has been supporting Bulwark since the beginning of their first project.
“The team at Kasedo Games have been really close to us since the beginning of our first project together and have continued to offer us a huge amount of support. As an indie studio, it is a real pleasure to work with a flexible publisher capable of adapting and redefining their strategy as the project evolves,’ Monnereau commented.
“We’re really excited about what we’ve been working on, and this deal was just a natural progression that will allow both companies to forge forward and create quality games.”
