New Zealand government commits $10m to growth of local games industry

City of Dunedin will become hub for aspirations to grow games industry to $1 billion sector

The New Zealand government has come through on its earlier duties to contribute $10 million (NZD) in the nearby games industry,

In an administration declaration today, the city of Dunedin was affirmed as New Zealand’s new Center for Digital Excellence (CODE).

“Dunedin has a long history of advancement and is now home to expanding quantities of effective, universally perceived tech organizations – including computer game improvement studios RocketWerkz and Runaway,”

“We have a flourishing and synergistic beginning up network upheld by top of the line tertiary training suppliers. The business’ requirement for storytellers, specialists and planners, takes advantage of our city’s developing imaginative economy.”

Throughout the following ten years, CODE will fill in as the foundation of yearnings to develop the New Zealand games industry into a $1 billion (NZD) try.
